  • A Jaeger spring

    Jaeger-SS10-preview

It feels a little wrong to lump Jaeger in with Oasis, Next, Dorothy Perkins. Our aversion to fast fashion is no secret, but with the quality, cut and well, price tag, synonymous with the Jaeger collection, we’d classify it as designer-quality high end high street–just to make the distinction.  And the Spring/ Summer 2010 line only widens the gap down Oxford Street.

The initial preview for Jaeger’s spring lineup is reminiscent of New York style.  Chic and sophisticated, there is a heavy dose of black and white, with a measured dash of red, olive green and navy.  We absolutely adore the cocoon shaped coat and slouchy harem pants above, and would love to lounge in any Jaeger’s super soft knits.  The graphic print wrap dresses are ideal for day to evening wear, whilst swirly tees appeal to our weekend fashion sense.  Minimal prints and colour blocking round out the delivery.  Check out more from Jaeger’s runway video here.

And if you’re purse is still pinched post-holidays, please do check out Jaeger’s amazing sale going on now.  Visit LynkU to browse all of the products. Extra plus: editors pick their favourite sale items for you–this is shopping made simple!

  • Introducing: Oxygen boutique

    Oxygen-boutique

We’re very proud–and incredibly excited, with purse in hand–to introduce the latest addition to the LynkU family: Oxygen.  With an impressive store front on Eastcastle Street in the Art District, London’s latest independent boutique is breathing fresh life into the fashion scene.  Stocking exclusive hand-picked styles from across the pond, Oxygen helps close –clothes?!–the gap between UK and US.  Finally an end to the us verses them debate–realistically more of an interlude–but either way the pickings are plenty.  And before we gloss over the best part: LynkU shoppers receive an additional 20% off all Oxygen products! You can thank us later.

From familiar names Doo.Ri (because we do love our jersey draping), Herve Leger (body-con aficionado to the stars) and Alice & Olivia (first stop in NYC: Contemporary Designers floor in Saks) to up and coming collections, we’re anxious to get our hands on the new collections.  It’s time to fan the fire, fashion has a new stockist in town.

  • Designer demands

LynkU is overloaded with incredible online boutiques, which can be a bit daunting to navigate.  So in the spirit of happy shopping, we have decided to regularly spotlight different retailers so you know where to go for what.  Sound good?  For our first installment we’re in full holiday party mode, and have been perusing all things sparkly, statement-making and just plain wonderful to really ‘Wow’ on New Years.  And we’re looking designer (a little holiday present for oneself?).   We’ve selected Net-A-Porter, my-wardrobe and farfetch.com for to meet our super-luxe criteria.

Launched in 2000 by founder Natalie Massenet, Net-A-Porter has made the world of high-end fashion accessible worldwide.  As the premiere luxury retailer on the web, Net-A-Porter stocks everyone from Acne to Jason Wu to Valentino, YSL and Oscar de la Renta.  This is designer decadence at its best.  Fashion is fantasy in all its best incarnations, so even if you can’t splurge on the new Balmain, we always love browsing their online magazine for ideas…and goals (who are we kidding?). Shop all Net-a-Porter on LynkU.

Clearly we’re crushing on my-wardrobe.com for all of our holiday shopping needs, and this due to the fact that they make online shopping hassle-free.  Admittedly shopping online, though allegedly simpler, can become a bit frustrating at times especially when you cannot see details or determine what colour a dress will be in broad daylight.  Leave it to the team at my-wardrobe to hand pick on-trend outfits and accessories for us, as well as group together the very best holiday buys.  Products are categorised by trends, events and inspirations so we can head straight to what we’re looking for. Shop all my-wardrobe here.

You just have to love farfetch.com. Sure you can search by brand, but farfetch sorts it’s wares into Luxe (high-end designers), Lab (up-and-coming lines/edgier lines) and Cult (you can’t not shop these lines, naturally), making it virtually impossible to not find what you’re looking for with ease.  The online boutique brings together 40 designers across Europe and the US, as well as an endless list of designers to shop.  Visit the Editorial portion of the site to check out farfetch’s top trends for the season.  Shop farfetch.com products on LynkU here.
