Let’s face it Zandra Rhodes has never been one to go subtle or suppress her love for colour, and if were honest, we love her for that. However, Autumn 2010 introduces a new shy and retiring collection of handbags from Miss Rhodes… Ha, only joking, this season’s bags are just as vibrant and bright as the designer herself.

Inspired by all things floral, Rhodes’ collection includes everything from clutches and totes to purses and make-up bags, each lined with her trademark colour-luminous pink. The bags are finished off with solid gold framing and rose clip fastenings to give them a luxe edge. But there’s nothing high class about the price as many start from as little as £20!! All we can say is House of Fraser here we come.

Anything men can do women can do better, especially when it comes to fashion. The once masculine military uniform has been sufficiently feminised on many catwalks, but Autumn 2010 is set to be the most girly of them all.

Burberry Prorsum, Balmain and Calvin Klein were just a few of the designers giving this trend a touch of femininity for fall. Embellished blazers were a plenty, so here at FFL we’ve narrowed down the most stylish, plus some added high-street hotties.

For laid back military shirts Topshop has the answer. In symbolic khaki green and light brown these oversized cover ups are the perfect assemble for a lazy Sunday afternoon. If stripes take your fancy then head on over to New Look where you’ll find an army infused cardi for just under £25. Marc Jacobs has designed a truly magnificent military tweed jacket (one of our personal favourites) that couldn’t be any more pink and playful if it tried. Loved for her innovation and creativity, DVF has produced some rather delectable day and night jackets that cater to your need for combat attire. Now we couldn’t leave without mentioning Balmain, after all this fashion label is renowned for its military infused outfits. Embellished gold lapels? Yes, that sounds perfect.

With the breezy months of autumn quickly creeping up on us there’s no need to fret as the fashion pack is fully prepared. Here to help kit out your new closet is the ever stylish My-Wardrobe.com who have pulled together a menagerie of tasty new arrivals chosen to satisfy your appetite.

First up is the oh-so-chic and stylish label Love Moschino with some rather classy yet youthful pieces making their way to our computers. A leopard print jacket is sure to get you noticed, whilst a bat winged cape certainly disproves the theory that grey is boring. Designed with a flattering silhouette in mind, this winter warmer is a timeless style statement. Next up is a rather playful leather ruffled handbag that’s good to go with any outfit day or night.

Tackling the London look in one collection is Alice by Temperley. The brand epitomises laid back cool with a subtle hint of attitude. A leather shift dress will suit women of all ages and packs a powerful punch of biker chick chic. We love the line’s cropped leather jackets and splashy shift dresses for a welcome change to the neutral colour palette.

Eye catching prints and beautiful embellishments sum up Tibi perfectly. Specialising in fitted shifts and casual separates, the brand definitely lives up to what they know best in this fantastic new collection. A gold and black shimmering dress will undoubtedly get you a second glance. And to keep you warm in your dancing frock, there’s an ultra stylish military blazer with silver embellished lapels. All we can say is what are you waiting for?

The Autumn months of 2010 are set to favour the stylish ways of 90s rock icon Kurt Cobain by embracing the era of grunge. Although the disheveled look has become a firm fashion favourite, the new decade of grunge has been given a touch of glamour.

The oversized jumper mixed with elegant evening skirt combo was the main style statement sweeping the catwalks this season. Though an unusual fusion the two go surprisingly well together. Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton are just a few of the designers modernising this style. And it’s a simple one to perfect at that.

To release your inner glamour grunge simply dig out one of last season’s knitted jumpers at the back of your wardrobe (or purchase a new beige Topshop special) and team it with a long floaty maxi skirt (also from Toppers.) Bearing in mind to keep the colour palette dark and neutral. After all pink was never the top choice for this Seattle-based movement. The full length skirt will add a touch of femininity to your outfit. While a pair of Office biker boots will help retain that all important rebellious nature of this ensemble. Once complete simply accessorise with as much skull studded jewellery as you can find.

In the past it has been referred to as a child’s one piece, thank heavens the now highly sought after jumpsuit received a well deserved makeover before entering women’s fashion. Appearing heavily throughout S/S 09 the jumpsuit looks set to stick around for another season, as its versatile nature allows it to be dressed down for summer or up for winter. Here are a few of our faves to see you right through to cooler weather.

Starting from the top we have a delightful pastel gingham playsuit from Heritage complete with knotted bow detailing—what we’d like to call the perfect sunshine outfit. Next up on our list is a retro inspired strapless version from Fire Floral. The dark black flowery print will add drama and mystery to your look. Topshop appears to have gone all psychedelic on us with a 70s blast from the past. The vibrant yellow graphics create optical illusions, leaving us with an ultra hippy chic suit. Last but not least is the ultimate couch slouching playsuit, designed by Marc Jacobs, which effectively captures the baggy boyfriend look to perfection.

New collections are landing at Net-A-Porter, Asos and Topshop this week, creating even more wardrobe must-haves to delight your fashion fancies. The retail giants’ latest collections offer everything from last minute summer steals to essential autumn accessories, so see it here first and get shopping.

Top of our list has to be this exquisite denim jacket by Alexander McQueen, available at Net-A-Porter, and at only £995 its a definite essential for next season. Hot on its heels are a pair of brown suede Fendi boots also from Net-A-Porter, these thigh high scrapers are trend setting as we type. Topshop is renowned for its rock chick chicness and these gold studded skull earrings are no exception, topped off with a pink baby doll dress and biker boots this outfit would be the envy of Daisy Lowe herself. Ankle boots are undoubtedly going to be big again this autumn, but don’t worry as Asos has it covered, from brown leather peep-toe hiker boots to grey suede wedge heels, your footwear desires are certainly catered to.

It’s almost guaranteed that every year Autumn/Winter fashion week will see the return of the cape. But it appears 2010 is destined for a style revamp. The emergence of ponchos on the runways looked chic and effortless, but can this style replace the cape?

The poncho, a present from the seventies in the form of one continuous piece of material with a hole and cut-outs for the head and arms, leaves us feeling all warm inside. Autumn 2010 saw Donna Karen displaying a rather fetching mulled wine coloured poncho, elegantly wrapped around the body. This shape truly flattered the female form as opposed to swamping it. Famous for its romantic intricacies, Valentino produced a shimmery black poncho filled to the brim with protruding ruffles, a definite warmer this winter.

But are we ready to discard the cape completely from our lives? Alas, this open option is here to stay, as Jaeger London opted for a black cut out version that’s bound to compliment any outfit next season. Also jumping on the caped crusade wagon was Marc Jacobs, who displayed an array of faux fur wonders suitable enough for the most charming of tastes.

2010 is shaping up to be quite a battle between these two pieces of outerwear, but from our end it’s just more fashion to shop.

Topshops latest knitwear collection means planning for next seasons wardrobe just became a little bit easier. After all summer doesn’t last forever, and today’s grey skies second that sentiment.

The new winter warmers look so comfortably snug your guaranteed to stay nice and cosy, whilst looking fashionable of course. Style and comfort was certainly high up on Topshop’s list of priorities when designing these beauties, as pastel blue and purple versions stay true to the trendy colour scheme with shoulder embellishment creating the ultimate 80s cardigan. A nude palette helped create the fashion labels infamous knitted crochet jumper, which simply oozes punk rebellion. In keeping with the more sombre tones of the British winter, a black knitted waterfall top has been introduced into the collection, providing a dramatic fashion statement this autumn/winter.

After the splendour of couture week, we’ve returned to checking the pre-autumn runway images that have been filtering in slowly. Hannah MacGibbon is designing something memorable at Chloe with her seventies-inspired line of subtle, groovy minimalism at it’s best. Utilising menswear tailoring, MacGibbon is working wide-leg trousers and cropped blazers. Without an ounce of frills or gauze, MacGibbon’s pre-autumn collection is plain groovy. Because Pre-Autumn is still a little ways off, we’ve selected three Chloe looks to replicate at a fraction of the price so you still have room for spring spending.

The best feature of this outfit is the wear-ability factor. Every girl needs a solid blazer, and a pair of wide leg trousers wouldn’t hurt either. Most of us probably already relish a denim blouse of our own, as well as a staple skinny belt. And where would we be without brogues? The flat shoes have been trending for seasons, led by a celebrity-heavy fan base include Sienna and Kate. This look epitomises office appropriate, and exudes a relaxed cool vibe.

Pretty, chic and super-feminine without being girly. Still following? This silky full-length skirt looks too good to pass up, whilst the button-up blouse is classic and smart. Wear with flats for a casual look, or pair with heels to keep that train from dragging. We suggest wearing to brunch with the girls or for a stroll in the city (when the weather is a bit warmer, of course).

This is our pick for the office and beyond–just substitute a pair of heels for the loafers and you’re ready for cocktails. Formerly, we kept far away from Argyle–there’s just something prep school about these cardigans–but that’s nothing a leather skirt couldn’t cure. Our sentiment on the footwear-of-choice was the same: dated and mature, but MacGibbon’s styling is sweet and effortless. Willing to give it a go?

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli’s pre-fall collection for Valentino dipped in the line’s signature hue for the first time. It had to be done…eventually. Valentino, a label known as prominently for it’s intricate embellishments and luxurious lace as for it’s penchant for passionate red, has been in the design duo’s capable hands for several seasons now and the wait is over. Chiuri and Piccioli have retained the elegance and artistry characteristic of the house, but have taken on a decidedly more modern direction.

The hemlines are up to there. The fit is tight. The look is fierce. This is Valentino Garavani reworked for a younger, more avant-garde audience. We’re intrigued and impressed. Sure Chiuri and Piccioli have tried their hand at the colour that practically epitomizes the line, but they have done it with less gowns, and in a patent trench, a pair of leggings, some over-sized beading, and a body hugging mini with bow appliques instead.

Whilst the spring collection transformed nude and pale pastels into floaty chiffon shapes (more on that to follow), Autumn/ Winter 10 looks set to continue this fresh trajectory.
