Picnic dressing

Make the most of the wide open fields and long summer days this season by indulging in a sophisticated, chic picnic party. A dress code does apply, but fear not as we’re here to cater to all your fashionable needs. So follow closely and perfect your outdoor dining wardrobe.
Firstly, avoiding any nasty grass stains is a massive priority, so investing in a luxurious picnic rug is a must! Lay back and relax on a retro Kissing Rabbit throw from Heal’s, its edgy design and appealing comfort make it a far cry from the once dull and itchy family rug. Next up is the picnic basket, bring it back to basics with this woven wicker masterpiece from Oliver Bonas and be at one with nature.
Now shoes are not so important once you’re at your chosen destination, assuming that it is a soft grassy field. In keeping with our natural theme, Office has crafted the perfect pair of rope plaited gladiator sandals to spice up any earthy outfit. Serving as the perfect picnic accessory, a straw hat is a major multifunctional asset—and it keeps those hard rays at bay.
Last but not least is your frock–opt for a floral or graphic printed sundress on this occasion, the swishier the better. Gingham is a common favourite for picnics and Miss Selfridge has nailed this trend exquisitely. Available in cute puff ball pleated versions they come beautifully decorated with tiny waist bows, acting as the ideal accompaniment to any summertime venture.

Towelled treats

A towel is one of the biggest summer essentials, as sunbathing in style is a must. Unusual prints and unique designs hold the fashionable answer, so invest wise this season and buy designer.
Placing their signature style on the toweling world, designers have created a menagerie of sea side delights. Lacoste has opted for a colourful pin striped rainbow towel, effortlessly symbolising summertime. Larger than life rose printed versions by Newport News offer a spectacular eye pleaser, while Paul Smith towels bare their trademark stripy logo. Unique twin set towels by Marc Jacobs steal the show in creativity. Stitched with quirky yet cute graphics, this beach beauty is a definite winner.
Not just any old towel will do this season! So be creative, be unrivalled and dare to be different with these magnificent designer buys.

A weekend affair
The UK’s air passageways are open again and the weather has been glorious so its no wonder weekend holiday’s are on our mind. It’s time to do away with tattered, old rolling carry-ons and update your luggage to a chic carry-all bag.
The weekender is intended to store essentials so don’t try to find a purse the size of your suitcase. Instead look for an oversized handbag with enough storage space to get you through a relaxed holiday. The size should be just large enough to fit your toiletries, a few light sun dresses and a pair of your favourite gladiators (and small enough so you meet overhead bin requirements). Forget bringing a pair of shoes and matching clutch for every possible occasion, packing light is oh-so-hot this season.
Stay classic and timeless with a tote in lush leather or a simple canvas print that will never go out of style. The key to a good travel bag is structure, if the material is too flimsy it will loose shape and look stuffed to the brim with your wardrobe. A squared purse or tote made of a strong, thick construction, is perfect to carry all of your necessities, without looking gaudy.
A travel-tote can remain strong and sturdy and still make a statement. Take this bag into summer with bright colours and bold prints. Use hints of shine, metal embellishments, quilting and pops of neon. These carry-alls are perfect for commuting, and their bold design makes them easy to find and graceful perched on your arm among a sea of black rolling luggage.
The key to the weekender is a solid structure with chic design . If you choose this luggage you may have to cut down on packing but it will be worth it when you arrive in style. To find you perfect pack-all tote shop LynkU.

What’s in your basket?
Easter weekend is upon us, and luckily your Mum won’t dress you in a frilly frock and white woven bonnet this year… we hope. But just because you no longer search for painted eggs or candy-filled baskets doesn’t mean you cannot treat yourself to an Easter dress this year.
Whether you’re travelling or relaxing this holiday weekend, get your fashion inspiration from the fanciful dresses you wore years ago. Think pastels, ruffles and ultra feminine design.
For day, consider the whimsical styles of childhood. A square waist and simple tie add playful youth to any sun dress. Day Birger et Mikkelsen takes this approach with a pastel blue crinkle silk dress that hangs loosely and will look perfect on any spring day. For an even more casual look, try Miso’s floral dress with white crochet neckline, which truly looks like your Sunday best all grown up.
Head out on the long weekend? Translate your lovely Easter memories into evening-wear with sweet mini-dresses and stunning pastels. Play with silk and satin mixed with subtle florals and lots of tiny ruffles along the hemline and sleeves to add a feminine flurry to the look. Keep the colours and fabrics soft and the cuts modest with bubble skirts and draping.
These styles are sure to take you down memory lane, but you may want to leave the bonnet at home this time. For all your Easter weekend frocks, shop LynkU.

Jessica Biel pretty in pink
The Los Angeles premiere of Valentine’s Day was a star-studded event to say the least. Julia Roberts, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba (more on the last two to follow), and that’s just a few of the girls in attendance. However, it was Jessica Biel who stood out as the fashion epitome of Valentine’s Day. Dressed in a one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown, Biel glowed with confidence. With waves of chiffon rippling down to the ground, simple upswept hair and red lips, the actress exuded romance on the red carpet. For our part, we’ve selected the most delicate–and delicious–silk confections we could find on LynkU in this month’s hottest hues: ruby red and sugary pink. First you’ll need a good foundation. We suggest Jean Yu’s satin and silk bra, fusing fuchsia and red, to start the night off right. A chiffon blouse is either sexy (think sheer red over black) or sweet (layered or buttoned up to the neck and tied with a bow), whilst a lacy camisole might be best saved for after dinner. Acne’s loose-fitting shorts are only for those brave enough to bare some leg on the wintry night. We suggest pairing with a slinky black tank, towering heels and tonnes of jewels for some sparkle. In the end, it’s all down to the accessories, especially if that’s the only way you’ll be injecting holiday flavour. A red silk scarf or plisse magenta slingbacks will do the trick. Remember a little touch of colour goes a long way, and a rosy hue ups the romance factor.

In the mood
‘Tis the holiday for new lingerie, ladies. Cupid’s about, love is in the air, fancy restaurants, over-sized blooms, chocolate, chocolate….and more chocolate. You see where we’re going. We can advise you how to dress your best on the 14th, but it’s up to you how you…well, undress. It’s easy to spot the fashion-faithful, vintage thrifters and gothic girls passing by on the street, but we’d bet every girl has their own personal flare buried just a few layers under their outerwear. You may prefer frilly dresses and floaty chiffons, but underneath you’re all about boy shorts and maximum coverage. Or maybe you match your vintage YSL suit with 1940s-inspired underwear. Whatever way you mix and match, it’s sure to need a romantic touch this Valentine’s Day.From what we’ve seen (sportswear aside), bras tend to fall into three categories: demure and innocent, vintage heirloom, and saucy seductive. These all sound fun to us! We believe that what you wear underneath sets the tone for your day/night, so it all depends on the holiday you’re envisioning.
Opinion is split in the office when it comes to co-ordinating bra and underwear. To match or not to match? Perhaps it should reflect your personal style. If you like red to match red, then by all means purchase a set, but if you’d rather inject some colour into the bedroom, we say mix it up! Whatever your preference, lingerie is made to enhance the wearer…and we’d bet the evening, too.

Dressed for romance
You would be hard-pressed to find a runway free of muted nude, bone and beige this spring, but in the spirit of Saint Valentine we have discerned our favourites for February 14 on and off the catwalk.
Dolce & Gabbana was our first stop. If memory served correctly (and oh! did it), Domenico and Stefano’s spring line was ripe with lusty romantic influence. Lots of black lace…and we do mean a lot, crimson-coloured satin and full rosy blossoms had us wondering if the design duo had only one holiday in mind this year. Alber Elbaz’s collection for Lanvin was the next stop with draped one-shoulder dresses wrapped seductively across the body. To address spring’s pastel preference, we’ve incorporate in a pop of pink from Versace. And what Valentine’s Day would be complete without a little lingerie? Head straight to Christian Dior for diaphanous red chiffon pulled across lacy black underwear.
Inspired by high-end designs and sultry silhouettes, we take it to the high street. Oasis’ one-shoulder dress with pleated bodice is on trend and light on the purse, whilst Monsoon’s draped and embellished frock is simply stunning. Not surprisingly Asos makes the cut with three options to suit any style. Lusting for romance and fashion? Try peaked shoulders and a peplum skirt, add intricate black lace weaving through fuchsia and you’re set. Ted Baker’s off-the-shoulder silk dress is effortless and cool, pair with ankle boots and layer on the bangles. The fitted folded neck dress oozes sophistication, perfect for the girl who handles her wardrobe–and love life–with ease.
And remember, even if you don’t have yourself a lovely little Valentine this year, it’s always appropriate to shop like you do.

Mawi madness
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we thought it best to focus on some jewellery. It’s the go-to gift of guys everywhere, and there’s a reason for that. Flowers are done in a week (and that’s pushing it), chocolate goes straight to the thighs, clothes are too hard to pick and shoes, well in our experience, every girl is extremely particular about what she will–and will not–put on her feet. That leaves the jewels. Lots of them in fact, that’s one thing we’re not picky about. Something for everyone, it’s the more the merrier mentality. Whether it’s made of 18k or coloured-plastic we guarantee you will find somewhere to wear it.
Mawi is our go-to for memorable, inspired baubles. Sure, Mawi blends traditional gold and silver with a colourful mix of precious stones, but it’s the line’s utilitarian design and vintage elegance that differentiates this line from the rest. It’s all in the details. Look closely, and you’ll realise those little sapphire are supported by tiny skulls, whilst the lovely pearl necklace with rose-coloured pebbles actually holds a crowned king of the underworld below it. Mawi’s aptly titled Heirloom collection brings an Old World feel to modern favourites. Below are our top bets for Mawi jewels that will make a lasting impression. Shop all Mawi on LynkU.

Will you be My-Valentine?
My-Wardrobe is giving shoppers a helping hand–and a little treat–for cupid’s holiday. Shhhh….keep the grumbling to a minimum…we’ve got everyone covered, whether you’re partnered up, or flying solo this season, the online boutique has just the thoughtful pressies you need. And you can receive an extra bonus in the form of free shipping on all standard UK orders on shoes, bags and accessories (all of our favourite goodies) until 14 February with the code: FREELOVE.
Because our hearts don’t come cheap, we’ve selected the very sweetest rosy treats above. Pucker- up, we’ve had our eyes –and hearts- on those Lulu Guinness bags since autumn, and now its just a matter of choosing between pink and red. Decisions, decisions. Lucy Hutchings delicate drop earrings are chic and sophisticated. Wear with upswept hair and a sexy dress for V-day. And if you need a little holiday humour to cheer you up, what better way to accessorise the blues away than with a pair of Gold Lady Dragon slingbacks by Vivienne Westwood?
If you are shopping for your better half this holiday, check out my-wardrobe’s collection of smart menswear. We’d dress any guy in these cool grey and black outfit add-ons…it could be more like a Valentine makeover. Mulberry’s cross-body bag is our perfect pick, but this only fits if your guy is comfortable with the man-bag situation. This could be a present you purchase for him that has more use to you (read: best buy). A Burberry scarf is always a flawless bet, and D&G’s toiletry bag upgrades an old standard. And even if they do not realise it yet, accessories are a man’s best friend, that’s why Simon Carter’s rectagular watch and Person’s sharp aviators are top choices. Slip the Paul Smith cufflinks on our Valentine just as your stepping out for dinner to add a romantic touch.

Be My Valentine?
Why wait around for cupid’s arrow when you can treat yourself this Valentine’s day? When you think of the holiday that surrounds love you probably day-dream of chocolates, roses, hearts and flowers– good thing this season’s fashion trends incorporate all of these luxuries.
We suggest you indulge in some rich chocolate…and by that we mean of the cashmere sweater variety. As delicious as candy, this Bottega Veneta cardigan is sure to make anyone feel love struck with its soft texture and hint of shimmer. As for the flowers, Cath Kidston provides us all with moisturised and scented hands and lips. You won’t need a dozen reds when you use these rose scented hand creams and lip balms.
If you feel like showing your Valentine’s spirit you can find a wide range of chic styles with a heart motif. Your feet will scream ‘love’ with these Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon Heart heels that add a funky flair to this romantic time of year.
Not that daring? Show the colours of the season with a Diane Von Furstenberg floral print dress. Whether you have a Valentine or not, you can still dress like a hopeless romantic this season and treat yourself to some love.
