Fragrant fashions
Written by Dana Karlson
Lunchtime discussion today was centred on scents. What olfactory delights please you most? Some prefer the aromatic flavour of jasmine, whist others like to feel as if they’re grazing in a field of wild flowers, and still others of us prefer more gender-neutral territory featuing whiffs of freshly cut grass or woody undertones. Whatever your ideal blend, we can all agree on the fact that when you find it, you just know. In fact, you might want to pass this post straight on to your partner in light of Valentine pressies– a little lesson at lunchtime for the shopping-impaired.
Whilst these are not necessarily the latest designer crop introduced to soothe our olfactory senses, we’ve selected a few of our favourites to suit your personal style. Do you prefer your clothes classic and minimal like Celine’s ss2010 (thank you Phoebe Philo)? Try Chanel’s Allure for a fresh floral smell that’s simple yet irresistible. If the sporty style of Ohne Titel or Alexander Wang is more your flavour, we suggest Burberry Weekend– subtle hints of vanilla make this fragrance cool and casual. For those who love all things silk, lace and lovely (also known on the runway as Valentino), our pick is Sarah Jessica Parker’s Endless, a luscious blend of plum and flowers. To suit a dark and sensual style, we recommend Karl Lagerfeld’s Narcisse, which dazzles with sharp oriental bouquets.
Whether you prefer a subtle scent or a fragrance in full bloom, shop LynkU to find the answer to all things olfactory.
