    Rosy-Valentines

You would be hard-pressed to find a runway free of muted nude, bone and beige this spring, but in the spirit of Saint Valentine we have discerned our favourites for February 14 on and off the catwalk.

Dolce & Gabbana was our first stop.  If memory served correctly (and oh! did it), Domenico and Stefano’s spring line was ripe with lusty romantic influence.  Lots of black lace…and we do mean a lot, crimson-coloured satin and full rosy blossoms had us wondering if the design duo had only one holiday in mind this year.  Alber Elbaz’s collection for Lanvin was the next stop with draped one-shoulder dresses wrapped seductively across the body.  To address spring’s pastel preference, we’ve incorporate in a pop of pink from Versace.  And what Valentine’s Day would be complete without a little lingerie?  Head straight to Christian Dior for diaphanous red chiffon pulled across lacy black underwear.

Inspired by high-end designs and sultry silhouettes, we take it to the high street.  Oasis’ one-shoulder dress with pleated bodice is on trend and light on the purse, whilst Monsoon’s draped and embellished frock is simply stunning.  Not surprisingly Asos makes the cut with three options to suit any style.  Lusting for romance and fashion? Try peaked shoulders and a peplum skirt, add intricate black lace weaving through fuchsia and you’re set.  Ted Baker’s off-the-shoulder silk dress is effortless and cool, pair with ankle boots and layer on the bangles.   The fitted folded neck dress oozes sophistication, perfect for the girl who handles her wardrobe–and love life–with ease.

And remember, even if you don’t have yourself a lovely little Valentine this year, it’s always appropriate to shop like you do.
