Topshop lauches holiday dress rental
Written by Dana Karlson

These are not just any dresses, friends. These are designer dresses worn and donated by celebrities, and Topshop is renting them for pennies. Well not exactly, but in comparison to the thousands of pounds these dresses typically retail for, this is quite the bargain! Topshop on Oxford Street has installed a boutique of stars’ gowns for you to rent for a mere £40 to wear from 7 December until 23 December. This is common practise among the Kates and Ditas of the world– borrowing designer gowns for a night to remember–so why not bring it to the public? This is a Christmas pressie of the best kind: designer.
Above we have a Dolce & Gabbana rosebed donated by Peaches Geldof, which would look brilliant at a black-tie ball. Remember the canary yellow Spring 2010 dress Freida Pinto wore to Burberry’s show at London Fashion Week? Us too, and we want it! All soft and draped across the body, Freida’s knotted number is perfect cocktail party attire. Dita Von Teese lends her navy silk-chiffon blend to the mix, along with a frock from Lanvin donated by Miss Moss and a body-hugging dress by Herve Leger courtesy of Jourdan Dunn. And we’re just getting started. There are looks from Antik Batik, Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll and more for you to get your hands on.
