Fragrant fantasies
Written by Dana Karlson
There is a constant smell of loveliness spread around the office of late, and surprisingly this is not due to the influx of holiday treats and goodies. No, we’re attributing this olfactory delight to the presence of Diptyque. We’re usually all about the clothes, shoes, bags and as many outfit add-ons as you can count, but after a group discussion we felt it would be remiss to hold out on this fragrant secret. Founded by three friends in Paris who shared a love travel, specifically to the Mediterranean and the Far East, Diptyque’s aromatic candles have garnered a worthy cult following. A thoughtfully constructed tripod of scents complements and enhances the indulgent fragrances. Diptyques’ sophisticated range of candles, fragrances and room sprays make the perfect holiday gift.
Tubereuse is a particular favourite for it’s sensual dream-like scent. Interestingly this Mexican flower is the most expensive floral perfume ingredient across the globe. Baies is one of the most popular Diptyque fragrances, which combines blackcurrant with rose garden florals. Mmm smells like summer. And do we see Mimosa there? These tiny yellow buds trace back to the French Riviera. Bring on the sun! Room sprays are £32 each.
A fun fruity fragrance, this uni-sex spray combines notes of fig and White Cedar, reminiscent of a summer spent along the lazy beaches of Greece. £42
