You read it right ladies, Zac Posen, master of glorious Hollywood gowns, has announced that he will launch a sportswear diffusion line at lower price points.  Meaning the lovely world of Zac will be slightly more attainable?!  Though sadly, none of the above will be included (more on that later).

Yes, we know you’ve  heard it all before– high-profile designer attaches the ever-subjective “affordable” to his newly established sister line, which still remains a couple hundred pounds away from actually shop-able prices tags. Zac is different. At least Vogue has heard it otherwise.  According to the fashion Bible, Mr. Posen asserts that his latest project is most definitely a separate collection replete with T-shirts, blazers and knits, with prices starting under $50 (about £30)– though no word yet if this for a key ring.  Posen will launch his first sportswear collection this spring at Saks Fifth Avenue, where it will be displayed alongside Tori, Tahari and M Missoni (one eyebrow raised…we’re just sayin).

We love Zac Posen.  We love his gorgeous gowns.  We also would love to see friendly numbers on the til, and will therefore keep you updated on our quest to preview the new collection (and the price tags).

For now, we leave you with his spring collection of colour-blocking heaven. Colour-block can look so contrived, but Zac uses hues that play well together (Robin’s Egg blue and Royal blue/Wine and beige/  tangerine and ballet pink) in flattering fluid silhouettes. Love! Of course we had to include a floral dress–or two– and the collar chokers are divine.
